What is it?

It's an AppleScript editor. If that doesn't make sense, you don't need this.

What's unique about it?

It compiles the script live, as you type - no need to explicitly compile the script (though can do that too, by pressing the enter key). It also shows errors in a status bar, silently (it would be a real pain to have live compilation but show errors in alert dialogs).

What can't it do?

It can't save scripts yet. You can load existing scripts, or type your own, but you can't save them yet. This is very much an early work-in-progress application.

What is it made with?

It's made with REALbasic 2.1. You can get the source code if you want, so you can make your own versions.

What do I need to use it?

You just need a Mac with AppleScript installed to use the application itself (a 68k Mac is fine). To use the source, you need REALbasic 2.1 (regular edition or professional edition).

You also need Thomas Templemann's MemoryBlock Plugin for REALbasic if you want to run or compile the source.

This source isn't hosted at this site. It's the original source which used to create Mini Script Editor. It's not exactly the same as Mini Script Editor, but if you're familiar with REALbasic you can tweak it to exactly duplicate Mini Script Editor within about half an hour.
